What is the difference between “marine grade” and “above sea” coral calcium?
A. The marine grade coral calcium is generally considered to be a little higher quality due to its 2:1 calcium to magnesium content. Also, the mining and processing costs are higher than above sea coral. Above sea coral does not have the same amount of magnesium as marine grade coral, therefore, the manufacturers will add magnesium to the final product. Other than calcium and magnesium, the mineral content of both types of coral calcium are very similar.
