What is the difference between my CTS Dial-In account and my K-State eID?

0

Your Dial-In account simply provides an internet connection. After you have connected to the internet, you can run several different clients to access services on the internet. For example, you can run Firefox or log into your K-State eID by running a telnet client. Your K-State eID gives you access to the UNIX computer network on campus. It stores your email, and can also be used for programming, running SAS, matlab and several other programs. Most importantly, when making a Dial-In connection, you must use your eID and eID password. Dial-In accounts are provided by K-State Computing and Telecommunications Services in 109 East Stadium. K-State eID’s are provided by CTS. For more information about eID’s please visit the eProfile page.
