What is the difference between powdered, superfine, and liquid sugar?

If you pulverize regular granulated sugar, it makes the sugar crystals smaller. In size of granule: regular granulated sugar is largest, superfine is smaller, and powdered (or confectioners sugar, as it is often called) is smallest. Powdered sugar has been made so small that it turns into a powdery consistency. However, it is made up of the same sugar that you find in and regular and superfine. You can actually make your own powdered sugar if you have a food processor… just put in regular sugar, and pulse until it turns powdery… good to know if you have run out of powdered sugar. Liquid sugar I am not so sure about. I saw a few sites online that sell liquid sugar, and from what I can tell it is like highly concentrated simple syrup (sugar and water). It doesn’t crystallize, which makes it an excellent sweetener for liquids (such as lemonade or iced tea) so that you don’t have to stir and wait for sugar crystals to dissolve.
