What is the difference between Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA)?
If Quality Control (QC) relates to a specific product or service Quality Assurance (QA) relates to processes that produce the products. If Quality Control identifies the defects for the primary purpose of correcting defects. Quality Assurance evaluates whether or not quality control is working, for the primary purpose of determining whether or not there is a weakness in the process. If Quality Control is in-line function i.e. responsibility of the worker. Quality Assurance is a staff function.
