RDC is a regional rural development organisation established by government in 1991. In 2007 RDC became an independent company in its own right. RDC works to promote positive and sustainable change helping to develop and regenerate rural areas for the better. RDC brings together the wide range of rural interests including the community, private and public sector interests of rural development. The work of RDC centres on 3 things: to deliver objective analysis; to provide practical actions and solutions and to identify and share best practice. RDC is a significant funder of projects and programmes in rural areas working as an agent for the International Fund for Ireland and through its role in delivering European funds.
