What is the difference between shy and quiet?
Being shy means you feel uncomfortable in social situations and are afraid to express yourself openly. You’d rather “hide” or “shrink” from situations requiring your input. Being quiet just means you are not a talkative or noisy person. A shy person is almost always quiet, but a quiet person is not necessarily shy. I am by nature a quiet person—I prefer peace and serenity to noise and being around talkative people—-but I am not shy around them. I feel at ease in social situations—-it’s just that I don’t like to “blah, blah, blah..”. lol.
