What is the difference between sodium laureth sulphate and sodium lauryl sulphate?
A. Sodium laureth sulphate is a relative of sodium lauryl sulphate however there are large differences between several aspects of the two products. The most important difference is in the irritancy of the two products. Sodium lauryl sulphate is far more irritating than sodium laureth sulphate.The modifications made in the preparation of sodium laureth sulphate result in a relatively mild surfactant which is still very effective at cleaning and is especially suited to personal cleansing rinse off products.
