What is the difference between the African Willow Tree and the Rhodesian Elm Tree models?
The Rhodesian Elm Tree, is a three piece unit…a floor model with detachable hanging gym that will also convert into a table-top unit. To convert from a floor model into a table-top gym you simply unplug the longer one of the two base stems and unscrew the castor wheels. As depicted in the various graphics, the Rhodesian Elm may be used in either a stationary position as a floor model, or table-top… but you also have the option of simply detaching and hanging the ‘upper’ portion of this unit, which will convert your free standing gym into the renowned Rotating Parrot Play Tree. The basic difference between the Rhodesian Elm and the African Willow is that the base of the Willow Tree is flat and cannot be converted into a tabletop unit. The Elm is a bit more elaborate, offering the ‘raised panel lip’ around the base, hence the difference in cost. I have a Congo African Grey, and a Sun Conure.
