What is the difference between the AOGs Bed and Breakfast Program and the Academys Sponsorship Program?

These are two separate and distinct programs. The AOG’s Bed & Breakfast Program is a limited duration program. In-coming appointees traveling alone to Colorado Springs are offered an opportunity to stay with a local graduate or USAFA family the night before they report to the Academy. The host family picks up the appointee, keeps him/her for the night and delivers the appointee to Inprocessing at Doolittle Hall. This allows the appointee to avoid spending their last night before Basic Cadet Training (BCT) alone in a strange town without any friendly support. Host families participating in this program make the appointees feel comfortable and reduce their anxiety with the support of someone who knows about it all first hand. The host is not expected to continue as the sponsor family during the appointee’s tenure at the Academy. Hosts who do wish to sponsor the appointee they hosted must register with the Cadet Sponsor Program office.
