A passport is a travel document for international travel issued by the country whose citizenship (nationality) you hold. A visa can be a pre-clearance by an embassy/consulate of a foreign country which authorized you to travel to that country and request entry by undergoing immigration procedures. The visa does not guarantee admission to that country; it is still pending on the documentation presented to the immigration officer on arrival.
