What is the difference between when you convert video to AVI versus MOV?
Both AVI and MOV are actually just DV files. AVI and MOV themselves are simply “wrappers,” or platform-specific file types that contain a DV file. AVI is the format preferred by Windows, while MOV (or Quicktime) is preferred by Macintosh. Otherwise, there is no difference! In general, Windows handles AVI well while Mac works best with MOV. If you have the wrong file type for your platform, you may have to convert video file.
