Wood – wood veneer is natural material wood cut to a very thin gauge, generally a 1/32 inch thick slice. There are different types of wood. Wood is classified as either hardwood or softwood. Softwoods are primarily derived from evergreen trees such as pine, spruce, redwood, and cedar. Hardwoods generally come from broadleaf trees that lose their leaves in winter, such as oak, ash, walnut, cherry and mahogany. High-pressure laminate (HPL) is a thermoset paper/plastic composite, where decorative papers impregnated with melamine are consolidated over phenolic-impregnated Kraft papers at high temperature and pressure to form a homogeneous laminate. HPL is designed to be used for heavy duty use and is very durable. Melamine is made up of a Melamine Resin impregnated color that is Thermally Fused to an Industrial Grade Chip Core base, Resins are used to make sever layers to produce a laminated surface.
