What is the difference from interphase and mitosis?
Interphase precedes mitosis. This is the main life period of a cell during which it fulfills its specialized purpose and if it is to proceed to mitosis and divide, it is during this time that the cell doubles chromosome counts among other things, and prepares for mitosis. Mitosis begins when a cell completes doubling of chromosomes in interphase and enters prophase.
