What is the diffrence between unlocked cell phones and normal ones?
An unlocked cell phone is a phone that has been either designed or modified to work with any compatible network service. Presuming that we’re only talking about GSM cell phones (the kind that take SIM cards), an unlocked phone would be capable of using a SIM card from any carrier. A locked phone would only be able to using a SIM card from the carrier it was designed for. A few phones are sold unlocked originally, but some are legal and/or illegal unlocked to be used with other networks. It’s notable that you’re likely to pay extra for an unlocked cell phone. You might find luck at ebay by including “T-Mobile” in your ebay search to find used phones designed for T-Mobile.
