What is the DRT (Design of Reliability Tests/Testing) utility in Weibull++ and ALTA and how can it be used?
The DRT utility allows you to determine the required numbers of units and/or test time required to demonstrate a certain reliability result. It is a useful tool when you need to evaluate the number of units, the test time required under a certain testing scenario or the reliability and confidence that can be demonstrated if such a scenario is actually implemented. The utility uses the binomial distribution (and in Weibull++ version 6 or later, the reliability equation) to perform the required calculations. There is also functionality for test design for units with an assumed exponential distribution.
