What is the Eagle County Sheriffs Office role in the approval of my Explosives Permit?
Once you submit your application the Eagle County Sheriffs Office will run a criminal history and local contact background check on the applicant. We process the proper paperwork associated with your application and background. The background and application are reviewed and at this time approved and signed by the sheriff or they are denied and returned to the applicant. Once the application is complete with the sheriffs approval you are responsible to mail these applications to the appropriate address in order to have your application reviewed and finalized by that agency. Explosive Permit applications need to be mailed to: Colorado Department of Labor and Employment Division of Oil and Public Safety 633-17th Street, Suite 500 Denver CO.
