Antifungal agents could be used for entire system and only for local area too. Local agents work on the skin level by attaching themselves to the membrane of fungus cells and destroy them. Nystatin cannot be absorbed in intestines and is most suited to cure fungal infection in mouth area. Clotrimazole is very toxic and it is used only for local areas.
