It is a free service provided by the U.S. Treasury whereby customers may make their Federal TT&L payments via the internet at www.eftps.gov or over the phone at 1-800-555-4477. However, this service does have an enrollment process that can take a minimum of 21 days. What are the EFTPS Benefits? • EFTPS is an efficient, user-friendly system that costs nothing to use and will make tax payments trouble free • EFTPS is available 24 hours a day, year-round, from anywhere there’s a phone or Internet connection • There is a lesser chance of errors which may result in interest or penalties • Payments can be scheduled up to 120 days in advance. • EFTPS is safe and secure. It takes just four steps to enroll at www.EFTPS.gov. The IRS has a pre-enrollment beginning in October.
