What is the eligibility criteria for Tax Assistant and Pay Scale?
Tax Assistant are recruited for various Commissionerates of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC). It is a Group ‘C’ non-Gazetted, Ministerial post in the pay scale of Rs 4000-6000. Any graduate from a recognised university with Data Entry Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on computer between 20-27 years is eligible for the Tax Assistant Examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (www.ssc.nic.in) for recruitment to these posts.
