What is the essence of Buddhism?
The essence of Buddhism is Compassion and Wisdom. Wisdom is like the eyes to see and Compassion is like foot to move forward. Wisdom teaches one to see what is right and what is wrong; enables one to discipline oneself and develop spiritual knowledge. Compassion on the other hand, teaches one to serve other beings who are ignorant and who lack wisdom. With Wisdom and Compassion Buddhist believe that one can achieve the highest state of well-being known as Buddhahood which is the state where ultimate bliss and peace exists.
