What is the Ex Dividend Date/Record Date?

0

These dates are announced when a dividend has been declared. The dividend details can be found on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) website www.asx.com.au under the Metcash code MTS. Shares are quoted ‘ex dividend’ four business days before the company’s record date. To be entitled to a dividend a shareholder must have purchased shares before the ex dividend date. The record date is the date a shareholder must be on the company’s register (at 5.00pm) to be entitled to the benefit of a dividend.
