What is the FEE STRUCTURE FOR THE DOWNTOWN BOSTON BID?
The fee structure for the Downtown Boston BID is detailed in the BID Improvement Plan. Generally, the fees are determined as follows: • For taxable properties assessed at less than $70 million, the fee is $1.10 per $1,000 of assessed valuation. • For properties assessed at a higher value, the fee is $1.10 per $1,000 of assessed value up to $70 million, plus $.50 per $1,000 of assessed value over $70 million. • For most properties, this will translate to a cost of 16 to 25 cents per square foot of building area.
