What is the first aviation school in the Philippines?
The Philippine Air Force Flying School in Fernando Air Base, Lipa City, also known as the “Air Force Academy of the Philippines.” The PAFFS was preceded by: 1. Philippine Air Service 2. Philippine Constabulary Air Corps (no aircraft) 3. Philippine Army Air Corps After WWII, in September 1945 the Air Corps regained flying status when the 1st Troop Carrier Squadron at the Lipa Army Air Base in Batangas was activated with two Douglas C-47s. By January 1946 the squadron had 22 such aircraft. It became a separate military service on July 1, 1947, when President Manuel Roxas issued Executive Order No. 94.
