The first book in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy is the Fellowship of the Ring, followed the Two Towers, and the Return of the King. The hobbit is set before the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and details Bilbos’ first adventure. The Silmarilion is set in the begings of Middle Earth. The Adventures of Tom Bombadil. The History of Middle Earth is a 12 book series that tells the story which it named for.
