What is the Global problem of Arsenic?
Arsenic problem is a global one and as many as 25 countries show severe arsenic contamination of groundwater. India and Bangladesh are the most affected countries exposed to severe arsenic contamination. The other countries affected by arsenic presence in drinking water are Argentina, Australia, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Greece, Hungary, Japan, Laos, Mexico, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines, Romania, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, United Sates of America and Vietnam. The most affected countries in South-East Asia fall in the river basins of the Ganga-Brahmaputra or Mekong Delta.
