What is the government doing about feral camels?

The Natural Resources Management Ministerial Council (made up of the Australian Government and state and territory government environment ministers) has directed that a National Feral Camel Action Plan be written to guide the management of feral camels now and into the future. A draft copy of the plan can be found at http://www.environment.gov.au/biodiversity/invasive/ferals/camels/index.html. The Australian Government has provided funding to Ninti One Ltd to implement a management strategy in collaboration with partners. The government is also assisting with the evaluation of industry proposals.
