What is the hardest part of studying for a PhD?
A. One of the most difficult aspects of doctoral study is the change to working by oneself. While supervisors are always available for consultation on your doctoral work it does require a large proportion of individual, student-driven and personally motivated work. Any potential doctoral student should be aware of this and prepared for the significant change in working patterns involved in PhD study.
