What is the history and general timeline of Street Corner Symphony and Street Corner Records?

Street Corner Symphony started with just some ideas. Back in 1991 I did a live mix straight onto a tape cassette that was about twenty minutes long. Anyway, I shopped it around for years and nobody was really interested until about 1995 when the Ministry of Sound had the Open label. I played it to them and they really liked it, but since the original version was only on a tape, we couldn’t get a proper cut of it and I had to re-do it. So I went back into the studio, re-did it, got DJ Harvey to play percussion on it and then it came out properly in 1995 and it had a great response. I remember when the promo came out, François Kevorkian played it at the Ministry of Sound and, him being a hero of mine, I went up to say “hello, this is my record,” and he said it was one of his favorite records of the year. That was a really big compliment coming from him. That track was just called “Street Corner Symphony” and originally came out on Open Records which was part of the Ministry of Sound’s la
