• Holland City administrative interpretation on garage sales: A garage/yard sale is customary and incidental to a residential use. Continuous or frequent garage/yard sales are not. A home that has more than three garage/yard sales annually, or a garage/yard sale that exceeds four consecutive days, is a violation of the section 39-210 (h). Basically this means that people are allowed to use their residential properties to have a garage/yard sale, but more than 3 per year, or for more than 4 consecutive days is considered a business, and no longer just a residential garage/yard sale.
