What is the Ideal Ph Level for Beta fish?
The ideal pH is a stable pH. While Bettas may naturally dwell in water from a pH of around 7.0, or slightly less (as there is a fair bit of decaying plant material that keeps it low), any Betta you find in a pet store will have lived its entire life in tap water, which is generally fairly hard in the areas most fish are commercially bred. As long as you don’t toy with the pH, and let it stay constant, you won’t have any trouble. Also, salt does NOTHING to eliminate chlorine.
