What is the ideal temperature and pressure for storing my keg?

The colder the temperature the lower the pressure you need to maintain carbonation. For example, a keg held at 35 degrees with 10psi of applied pressure will have the same carbonation rate as a keg held at 43 degrees wtih 15psi of applied pressure. So to set your system, you need to figure out at what temperature you like your beer, adjust the carbonation to the level you desire, and then find the right line length that provides the correct resistance. The rule of thumb for balancing systems is that the pounds of applied pressure should equal the total pounds of resistance supplied by your beer line. 3/16″ liquid tubing will provide ~2.5 pounds of resistance per foot of tubing. So if you have 5 feet of tubing, 12.5 PSI of CO2 will balance that (assuming the beer doesn’t travel upwards). Add .5 lbs of pressure for every foot the beer has to travel vertically to compensate for the resistance gravity provides. Serving your beer at 45°F with 12PSI, would give you a balanced system where th
