What is the Imperial Guard/Who are the Cadians?
The Imperial Guard is the largest military organisation to ever exist. At any moment there are countless billions of Imperial Guardsmen stationed on millions of worlds ready for combat. They are the lifeblood of the Imperium and their massive divisions are the hammers of almost every engagement in Imperial history. Each world in the Imperium is required to maintain its own armies of imperial guard. The Cadians are one of these armies. They are primarily stationed on the world of Cadia, an Imperial fortress world on the borders of the Eye of Terror. They have fought off countless Chaos incursions from the Eye and are immensely courageous and determined fighting force. Their armies are known for logical combat discipline and sound tactics. They are regularly sent to quell uprisings on many worlds as their reputation marks them as exceedingly effective at this task.
