It is essential to make sure the contractor has insurance. Lets say you hire a contractor without insurance because the cost is a little less. If anything happens to that contractor or the employees while working on your project you would be liable for the damages. Most likely if the contractor does NOT have insurance they also dont have the money to correct any mistakes. If the contractor is insured that will give you the peace of mind that should anything go wrong its that contractors responsibility to correct the mistake.
