What is the intent of transcribing only selected census information?
The intention of the index is to provide researchers with a gateway in order to make looking up the online microfilm record easily achievable. It is not intended to be a substitute for viewing the original record provided through LAC. Other information is captured on the accompanying schedules for view by the individual researcher. For the 1851 New Brunswick census, all fields on the form are being transcribed as part of the index.
