What is the Interchangeable Mount System (IMS)?
The interchangeable lens mount featured on the SI-2K and SI-2K MINI camera system is a pre-lens-mount quick-lock bayonet system that allows the end-user to quickly change mounts between PL, B4, C, F, and a number of other lens mounts for 16mm, video, and 35mm lenses. It uses the standard Arri shimming system, so the mount can be calibrated at any qualified location for camera service. Because the lens mount is pre-calibrated at the factory (or by a qualified camera repair technician), removing and exchanging lens mounts means that there is no shift in the back-focus and necessity for re-collimation when exchanging lens mounts. Precise lens centering and other attributes of a strong lens mount are all maintained as the user seamlessly exchanges mounts to suit their workflow or equipment needs.
