What is the iPhones target market?
You don’t have one do you? The fact that the iPhone is actually advertised more for the MP4 player and ability to surf internet and play games should have tipped you off that it’s not aimed at men in suits. Although since YouTube is a standard app, along with is stocks you could say they’re taking a fairly broad swing at the market. There’s a proliferation of games that suggests they’re targeting young people, and it supports yahoo mail and googlemail (most webased accounts except hotmail actually) – you can buy apps to do that though. There are time management and productivity apps that suggest they’re also targeting middle magers and the self employed. Everyone wants it, but to me they’re targeting the C2/C1/B socioeconomic classes, and looking at a target demographic of people aged 15-30, with minimum technological knowledge (you hardly need a degree to download and use ITunes, and master the ‘tap to do’ motion!)
