What is the K-Value or R-Value of ceramic insulation?
The R-Value is the measure of resistance of material to heat flow/ gain by conduction only. The K-Value is the measure of thermal conductivity, the rate of heat transfer by conduction through a material. The is no common ground between radiation energy transfer and conduction transfers because they are separate heat transfer modes. As a result, comparing R-Value of ceramic insulation coatings with the R-Value of conventional mass insulation is not possible.
