All coconut oils contain large amounts of lauric acid, usually around 50%. The exact percentage can vary due to a variety of reasons, such as coconut variety, maturity at harvest, time of harvest, etc. While our Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil has tested as high as 62%, it does not always test that high, and we do not believe that percentage of lauric acid is necessarily an indicator of a superior coconut oil.

All of the medium chain fatty acids in coconut oil are beneficial, and if one has a higher percentage than the other fatty acids, obviously some of the other fatty acids must be lower than normal.
