The legal drinking age in Jamaica is 18.  The legal drinking age in most of the Carribean is actualy 18.  Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago all have legal drinking ages of 18.

I have been drinking since…. wow…. babyhood but the legal drinking age is 18. The law is not enforced with locals but in resort and tourist areas people are careful with the foreigners and giving underage kids booze. If ur not very babyish looking you can perhaps drink at a party at like 12…

the only time there is a drinking age is when u go to the supermarket to buy liquor or when u go to a established bar….but when it comes to parties its like 14-16 and as long as u can pass for 18. legally it is 18 though.

Generally speaking they are pretty chill in Jamaica. Basically if you can see over the counter they’re selling it at you are likely able to purchase it. The people there are relaxed and don’t want to dissapoint. Just be careful when you are drinking and a problem you might find is if you are trying to bring it back to the US. At customs they may take it if you aren’t 21. Good luck! Try some Red Stripe, it’s a jamaican beer. If you end up not drinking alcohol, try TING. It’s a great non alcoholic beverage as well.
