Local Plan Process – St Andrews and East Fife The intention to start the Plan is reported to Committee and advertised in local newspapers . There is dialogue, exchange of views and gathering of information. We contact people and organisations for comments and suggestions, developers propose sites, issues are raised, public meetings are held. • Publish Consultative Draft Local Plan (notice in local newspapers). At least 4 weeks for public to make comments (representations). • Publish Finalised Local Plan (reported to Committee and advertised in local newspapers). At least 6 weeks for public to make formal representations. • Examination of Finalised Local Plan by person appointed by Scottish Government – Representees may have opportunity to participate. • Publish Local Plan with Modifications • Adopt Local Plan – 6 weeks challenge period.
