What is the main source of energy used to run both hydro-electric turbines and wind turbines? Explain?
Hydroturbines are operated by the capture of gravitational potential energy of the flowing river of water. Wind turbines are operated by the capture of kinetic energy of the flowing wind. Ultimately, wind and rivers exist because of nature’s power cycles, all of which are powered by the sun beating down and evaporating water off our oceans, eventually to return to our oceans.
