What is the maximum life of ES Coolant?
While other companies attach a maximum life to their product, Cummins Filtration does not. This is due to the nature of the recommended life of coolants as determined by engine companies. They set life based on a very short cycle where it is expected under worst case conditions that the coolant will have reached the end of its useful life at two years. Changing the type and manner of adding SCA to the coolant as in “long life” products only affects the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) as compared to conventional short interval coolant and SCA. The chemical condition of the coolant is the best determinant of life. Contamination from fuel or lube oil will end the coolant life regardless of miles or coolant age.
