Asian people drink green tea in large quantities, up to a dozen cups, which may contain hundreds of milligrams of green tea catechins (polyphenols). EGCG is the most abundant green tea catechin that often takes 50% of the catechin content. But ideally the equivalent of 6-10 cups of tea is what I recommend per day. The equivalent of 90 mg of EGCG has been suggested to help in weight loss and the maximum needed is 180 mg per day of EGCG catechins. more
