What is the most powerful prayer known to catholics AFTER the Our Father?
The Eucharistic prayers of Consecration are the most powerful, after that I would put the Our Father as the perfect prayer taught to us by Jesus Christ. There are many prayers without words, a lifting of the heart and mind to God is prayer and that is powerful too. Even the sign of the cross is a powerful prayer as it is saying “Yes, I believe in you God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit” The Hail Mary is a prayer that is also very powerful and I do not understand why you say it is not, unless of course you are not Catholic.
I am not sure what you mean by most powerful prayer. Prayer is not usually measured in this way. The prayer that is prayed most often is the Sign of the Cross. I open my hand and touch my brow, and say, “In the name of the Father” Then I touch my heart with my hand, and say, “and of the Son” I touch my shoulders left and right, and say, “and of the Holy Spirit” I say, “Amen.” The Sign of the Cross is – A statement of belief in the Holy Trinity – A statement of belief in and thanksgiving for Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross – God blessing us – Us Blessing God (“I will bless the Lord at all times”) – A prayer using your entire body With love in Christ.
