What is the most rewarding thing about being a mom?
Watching my children progress through different developmental stages has been the most rewarding so far. As residents, we studied normal childhood development. We learned the “red flags” to watch for at each stage. Now as a mom, I get to watch and learn from my children first hand. I am constantly amazed by my kids and how they react to various experiences, the things they say, and the funny things they do. They keep you on your toes, but the enjoyment you get as a parent is overwhelming. Each stage brings something new and I have enjoyed reflecting on special moments in the past and looking forward to surprises in the future. What is the most rewarding thing about being a Mom on the Move? It is nice to be recognized. It is tough to balance being a mom with having a career or outside life. It is so important for women to believe that even though our children and families come first, it is ok to do something for ourselves.
