What is the nature of the Latin sessions?
Participating schools usually provide one Latin session each week of about an hour. This session is supervised by the classroom teacher (who is likely to have no prior knowledge of Latin). If possible, the session should be held in a room where the students can work individually or in groups, either at a computer or at a desk. The room should have sufficient computing facilities to provide reliable access to e-mail and the world wide web. The teacher should create a purposeful, but also welcoming and friendly, classroom atmosphere at the weekly Latin session. Some schools, which have offered Latin off-timetable, have in the past provided soft drinks and biscuits to help create a more congenial atmosphere.
