What is the nickname of Huntington Beach, California?
The nickname for Huntington Beach is “Surf City, USA.” But…there has been some controversy about it. The city of Santa Cruz, California has also laid claim to this nickname. If you need more info on the controversy, just do an internet search with any engine for “Surf City” and/or “Surf City, USA!” You’ll find plenty. My sister wrote a musical titled “Surf City, USA!” BEFORE the City of Huntington Beach filed for their “trademark” on the nickname and there was a bit of halobaloo about it all just before her play premiered at the Huntington Beach Playhouse in June of 2006.
