What is the Ontario government doing now to promote tourism in Muskoka/Ontario as a result of the Summit coming here?

Ontario is preparing to welcome the world in 2010 with the G8 Summit in Muskoka and the G20 Summit in Toronto. In an effort to make the most of our time in the spotlight, we are working to inspire international and domestic travellers to take a closer look at Ontario as a travel destination using vivid, dynamic experiences and compelling stories. The Ministry of Tourism through its marketing agency, the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation, has developed a promotion strategy that focuses on generating international media stories before, during and after the Summit. Approximately 3,500 accredited members of the international media are expected to attend the Summit. Some examples of promotions we have already undertaken to welcome world leaders and media to Ontario include: large-scale vibrant tourism images mounted for the first time at Toronto Pearson International Airport; an ad in the G20 Magazine for the meeting in Pittsburgh in September 2009; and production of a promo
