What is the Ontario Traceability Taskforce?
A joint industry-government working group formed as a result of recommendations from the Ontario On-Farm Food Safety Strategy such as: Create a Traceability Task Force to provide oversight and direction throughout the development phase for two traceability initiatives, with support from the Justice Haines Report “I recommend that the provincial government in conjunction with commodity and industry groups develop an effective meat safety traceability system for Ontario, designed to allow meat to be traced across the food continuum.”
