What is the over all care for a bichon poodle mix ?
I’ve got a 2-yr-old bichon/poodle. They are pretty easy to care for, but do need to be groomed regularly. Use a comb that suits the curly-haired breeds and brush him regularly. He’ll need trimming every few months too or he’ll get nasty tangles. My dog’s fur/hair/whatever seems to be much finer than a straight poodle or a bichon, so it gets lots of little knots if I don’t brush it and keep it relatively short. Watch out for dry skin if you bath him yourself – use shampoo for poodles. Regular vaccinations of course. Dry dog food is fine and it keeps their teeth nice and clean. Normal dog care stuff really! That 2nd poster was only partly joking about keeping them alive, it’s lucky these dogs are cute or they wouldn’t survive sometimes! Very playful, just a bit naughty, hard to house-train (my dog knows what to do where, but when my back is turned he’ll pee in the living room) and he barks way more than I’d like. Good luck!
